A Rotherhithe primary’s new school building was officially unveiled on Tuesday morning by staff, councillors and Bermondsey and Old Southwark MP Neil Coyle.
Albion Primary School, on Albion Street, will now be able to accommodate 420 pupils after its buildings were completely rebuilt and modernised.
Classroom spaces have been expanded during the refurb to allow for a dedicated reading nook and more natural light.

A story teller from Museum of London Docklands came in to tell us stories and sing songs all about celebrating the many languages of London. There is a Languages of London Festival there on the 3rd and 4th November if you want to find out more.

There have been lots of end of term celebrations in classes throughout the school. Year 4 enjoyed dressing up in togas and making authentic Greek salad to celebrate their Ancient Greece topic.

Julia and her Year 6s have done it again: another brilliant event! Staff, pupils and parents and carers all had a great time playing all the different games: throwing sponges at staff and Y6s; guessing the sweets in the jar; guessing the weight of the cake; to name but a few.
Four Year 5 girls were invited to compete and collaborate in a Maths Olympiad for KS2 girls last week. The girls had a great time and did Albion proud. Well done!
