We are writing to you today as some of you may have seen the article in the Southwark News this week about the new school development. The article alleges that “a size equal to the entire play area”, will be given up to Southwark Council for the development of new homes. As you know from the information that we shared with you last week, this is absolutely not the case and we would like to reassure you that the information in the 5outhwark News is wholly inaccurate.

Dear Parents and Carers,

Albion Primary School of the future: an invitation to hear about progress, see the emerging design, and give your views – Thursday 2nd October 2014.

Following my letter last term informing you of the rebuilding programme for Albion Primary School, I would like to invite you to meet with the architects, governors and Southwark Council officers to hear about the progress we have made. The school is working in a very strong and productive partnership with the Council. This will enable us to build a genuinely world class school for our children, to make a huge contribution to the regeneration of the area and to provide high quality facilities for the local community.

Friday, 25th July 2014Our New School

Dear Parents and Carers

I would like to take this opportunity to tell you more about the really exciting changes that are taking place in Albion Primary School.

As you know, we have already taken on an additional Reception class for the last two years.  Now, following a request from Southwark Council, Albion’s governors have agreed that the school should expand to become a two-form entry primary school with a new set of buildings.  We took the decision because we believe that we should offer to more families the outstanding education that the school already provides and a new school building would enable us to offer facilities for our children that would be amongst the best in the world.  The new building would also provide high quality space for community use and bring much needed regeneration to Albion Street.
