  • Salary: Scale 4 Point 4 (£30,654 – £32,907) actual (£15,445 – £16,581)
  • Role: Fixed Term 1 Year contract - Term Time + 3 Weeks

Extended Day Services (Breakfast & After School Club)

Services provision (breakfast club and/or our after-school provision) at Albion Primary
School. A passion for working with children and the ability to maintain a fun, happy
and secure environment is essential.

Job Summary:

To provide day-to-day quality childcare provision and support the Extended Services Manager in Extended Services which includes before and/or after
school club and holiday scheme.

 

Hows of Work:

  • Monday to Friday (term time + 3 weeks)
  • Breakfast Club: 7.45am - 8.45am
  • After School Club: 3.15pm - 5.45pm

The successful applicant will also be expected to work our holiday provision as
required. Hours are negotiable for the successful candidate.

This is a fixed term post for a year due to budgets and staffing review.

 

About the Role:

As a Playworker, you will help create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment
where children can enjoy a range of engaging activities before and after the school
day. You will support children's social, emotional, and physical development through
play, encourage positive relationships, and ensure their wellbeing at all times.

The successful candidate should:

  • Have an interest in the needs of children.
  • Be able to lead a variety of activities including arts and crafts as well as indoor
    and outdoor games
  • Be proactive and flexible.
  • Use their own initiative to differentiate activities ensuring full inclusion for all
    abilities and ages.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with children,
    parents/carers and colleagues.
  • Administering first aid where necessary.
  • Developing and maintaining good communication with all members of the
    community including parents/carers, children, Extended Services Manager, Headteacher and other organisations.
  • Work within the framework of Albion Primary School’s policy and procedures
    and the Early Years Foundation Stage.

 

The ideal candidate will be either an experienced childcare practitioner or somebody with the right qualities who is keen to learn, who will engage and inspire the children through extra-curricular activities and learning outside the classroom and uphold the ethos and values of the school.

Rotherhithe, next to the River Thames. Extended Services is a happy, inclusive and
