At Albion Primary, we know that happy, healthy children are the best learners. That's why we've spent considerable time working with our catering partners to ensure every meal served in our dining hall is not just delicious, but also packed with the nutrition our students need to thrive.

Free, Fresh, and Fantastic Every Day

Here's some wonderful news for families - Southwark continues to provide healthy, nutritious meals completely free of charge to all children from Reception through Year 6!

Working with Accent Catering, our kitchen team creates something special every single day. Picture this: three hot main meal options daily - including meat, vegetarian, and vegan choices - paired with freshly cooked vegetables, warm homemade bread straight from the oven, and an extensive salad bar. Everything is prepared fresh on-site by our dedicated kitchen team.

Sweet Endings Made with Love

Even our desserts get the special treatment! Rather than using pre-made mixes, our kitchen staff create every pudding from scratch using fresh ingredients. Combined with daily offerings of creamy yogurt and seasonal fresh fruit, these sweet treats help our children reach that important "five a day" goal for fruits and vegetables. And of course, fresh water is always available to keep everyone hydrated throughout the school day.

Quality You Can Trust

We're proud to share that Accent Catering has achieved an impressive 98.3% fresh food rating, with meals produced on-site at schools. They work closely with a consultant dietician and are active members of the Food Standards Agency's "Healthy Catering" sector - credentials that give us confidence in every meal served.

Caring for Our Planet Too

Sustainability matters to our Albion community, and we're delighted that our catering partners share these values. Accent Catering takes sustainable sourcing, fair-trade practices, and food miles seriously. The meat and poultry served is proudly British, eggs are free-range, and an impressive 75% of fruits and vegetables are grown right here in Britain. Even the packaging uses recycled materials wherever possible.
