Carnival Colour Takes Over Our School Streets!

The sun couldn’t have shone more brightly for this year’s school carnival, and what a spectacular day it was! Pupils burst with pride as they paraded through the local streets in a dazzling procession of colour, their wonderful handmade costumes turning heads all along the route.

Back in the playground, the celebrations continued with brilliant performances that had everyone dancing, clapping and cheering. Sparkling face paintings transformed our pupils into lions, butterflies, tigers and superheroes, while our excellent steel pan players filled the air with irresistible Caribbean rhythms that had the whole school moving to the beat.

The Breakdown:

EYFS pupils created maracas, paraded around the MUGA and sang beautifully.
Reception Class sand Day-Oh.

Year one - Created amazingly colourful tie dye t-shirts and thrilled the audience with a confident rendition of Waka Waka.

Year two - held their collaged pineapples for the parade and performed a premier of the "MUGA" Song with joyful dancing to accompany.

Year three - Emerald performed their African drumming, adorned in their painted tabards. Both classes gave a rousing performance of "Three Little Birds" which had parents singing along!

Year Four - learned the art of batik to create some stunning and unique designs on their capes. They wowed parents with their performance of the nineteen sixties hit Dancing in the Street.

Year Five - created bird-inspired hand held art and performed "This is Me" from The Greatest Showman.

Year Six - designed intricate and colourful carnival headdresses and performed a premier of "The MUGA" Song with some excellent dancing. They showed off their talents on steel pans and parents were thrilled to see their children's final carnival at Albion.

Albion’s Carnival is a joyous celebration of our unique curriculum and community. Every child learned and performed The Albion Carnival Dance and the school anthem “We Are Albion”. Credit to our incredible teaching team who create the space for ALL children to shine!

A huge well done to all our pupils and staff, whose hard work, creativity and enthusiasm made this year’s carnival truly unforgettable. We’d also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the parents/carers who came along to support the day, your presence and encouragement mean the world to our school community. It was a joy to see so many smiling faces, both familiar and new, enjoying the festivities together. Here’s to another year of learning, growing and celebrating as one big school family. We can’t wait for next year’s carnival already!
