Terrific Tuesday

Another day jam-packed with laughter, learning, and just the right amount of chaos. Welcome back to our summer club series! If you've been following along, you'll know every day here is built around one simple idea: children learn best when they're having the time of their lives. This Tuesday is no exception, and today's line-up might just be our favourite yet.

Here's what our crew got up to, and why every single activity earns its place on the schedule.

Rise and Shine: Yard Games on the Roof

We always kick things off with a morning warm-up, and today it happened up on the roof with a round of yard games. Getting bodies moving first thing does more than burn off breakfast energy; it wakes up growing minds, sharpens focus, and gets everyone in a cooperative, ready-to-learn mood before the day even properly begins. Fresh air, big skies, and a bit of friendly competition: the perfect start.

Paper Plate Ocean Wall Hanging

Next up, we swapped energetic for creative with a paper plate ocean craft. Cutting, layering, and decorating builds fine motor control and hand-eye coordination: skills that quietly support everything from handwriting to buttoning a coat. It's also a brilliant way to sneak in some ocean life learning, as children chat about waves, fish, and coral while they create. The result? A wall full of proud, one-of-a-kind masterpieces.

Sensory Ocean Water Bottles

Sticking with our ocean theme, we made calming sensory bottles filled with water, glitter, and little ocean treasures. These are wonderful little science experiments in disguise. Children observe how objects float or sink, how colours swirl and mix, and how liquids move. They're also fantastic self-regulation tools, giving kids a gentle, focus-building activity to return to whenever they need a calm moment.

Football

Time to get moving again! Football is a summer club staple for good reason. Beyond the obvious fitness benefits, it's a masterclass in teamwork, communication, and good sportsmanship. They learn how to win graciously, lose with a smile, and support teammates along the way.

Dance

Cue the music! Dance sessions build rhythm, coordination, and body awareness, but they're just as much about confidence and self-expression. Following steps and routines also strengthens listening skills and memory, all while everyone's grinning ear to ear.

Scooter and Bike Racing

Helmets on, and off they go! Racing on scooters and bikes develops balance, coordination, and gross motor strength, while also reinforcing important road and wheel safety habits in a fun, low-pressure setting. Plus, nothing beats the thrill of a photo-finish with your friends cheering you on.

Den Building

One of our favourites: den building turns a pile of sheets, crates, and imagination into architectural masterpieces. This is hands-on problem-solving at its best: children plan, negotiate, test structures, and adapt when things (inevitably!) fall down. It's teamwork, engineering, and imaginative play rolled into one.

Jenga

We wound down the day with some good old-fashioned Jenga. Don't let the simplicity fool you. This game demands patience, a steady hand, and careful strategic thinking, all while practising turn-taking and gracefully handling the moment the tower comes tumbling down.

That's a Wrap on Tuesday!
