"Governors and staff are rightly proud of the school's inclusive support for families from all backgrounds..."

In March 2025, Albion was proud to be awarded the Leading Parent Partnership Award, a national standard recognising excellence in working with parents and carers. This prestigious accolade reflects the school’s commitment to developing strong, meaningful partnerships with families and external agencies.

Albion has built effective links with a wide range of external providers who support both the school and its parent community. A number of events throughout the year focus on parents’ wellbeing, ranging from creative crafting activities to health sessions delivered by NHS professionals, including a diabetes and high blood pressure nurse.

The school’s induction procedures for in-year admissions ensure that families feel welcomed and supported from the outset, with meetings held with the headteacher to discuss any concerns and agree on a home-school partnership.

Regular morning drop-ins, stay-and-play sessions, and curriculum workshops on maths and reading are well attended and offer valuable opportunities for parents to engage in their children’s learning. Parents also receive half-termly curriculum newsletters in addition to statutory information available on the school’s website.

A key figure in this work is Albion’s dedicated Schools, Family Support and Engagement Officer, who provides a wide range of support for families. From attendance guidance to home visits and referrals to health and education services, she plays a vital role in ensuring that families in difficulty receive timely and compassionate support.

This award is a testament to the deep, ongoing partnership Albion has built with its parent and carer community—putting children and families at the heart of everything it does.
