Pupil Premium was introduced by the government in April 2011.
Funding which is allocated to schools for children who are, or have been in the past 6 years, eligible for free school meals (FSM), service children, adopted children and any child who have been looked after by the local authority. Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium as they seem fit although they are required to publish the expenditure and impact on their website.
At Albion we have been encouraging parents/carers to apply for free school meals if they are eligible in order for us to ensure we receive the maximum amount of funding possible. This funding then allows us as a school to provide the children with personalised and appropriate support/interventions and opportunities to raise their attainment, achievements, self-confidence and self-esteem.
Each year we will publish a report explaining how we are planning to spend the money and what our main focus is. At the end of each year the impact will be shown. As a school we are passionate about achieving the highest academic standard and for children to become confident and well-rounded individuals, preparing them well for the next stage of their educational journey.
